Fred Upton

Problem Solver

Fred Upton has always put people over politics to solve problems. His commitment to working across the aisle continues to deliver results for the good people of southwest Michigan.

But don't just take our word for it. Hear it directly from them:

Shows Up

Fred Upton and his office helped World War II Veteran Richard Clark get the medals he earned because of his service to the country -- 73 years after the war ended. Clark had a book of documents capturing every moment of his service during World War II, except for the four medals he was rightfully owed, one for each war zone he entered during the war. Fred and the team worked around the clock to get Richard his medals. You can read more about Richard's story here.

Been There

Sheriffs Daniel Abbott of Van Buren County and Paul Bailey of Berrien County know that Fred Upton is a champion for public safety. Whether it's securing critical federal grants for law enforcement, standing up for them in Congress, or just simply having their backs -- law enforcement knows that Fred stands with them. That's why Fred was endorsed by the Police Officers Association of Michigan.

Stepped Up

When COVID-19 hit, it was a scary time for patients and health care workers alike. Krista, Maria, and Tom -- nurses and doctors on the front line -- went to work to help protect and keep southwest Michigan safe. When the pandemic first hit our shores, numerous health care professionals noted there were simply not enough medical supplies or testing. They turned to Fred Upton. Fred worked with private businesses, the state government, and the Administration to secure personal protective equipment, advance testing supplies, and push pharmaceutical companies working on a COVID-19 vaccine.

Fred Does

Southwest Michigan resident Glory Wesseldyk was a dancer on a cruise ship when the COVID-19 crisis hit the United States. Authorities told Glory and her family she would have to stay on the ship for weeks. But that's when her parents called Fred Upton, and it was all hands on deck for Fred and his team. Fred worked with the federal government and local officials to secure Glory's return home.

Problem Solver

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Fred Upton has worked tirelessly to help rush assistance to southwest Michigan families, small businesses, and first responders. He's been working to help develop a COVID-19 vaccine, and Fred and the team have focused on efforts to help constituents during these unprecedented times. Fred is fully committed to working with anyone anywhere at any time to support workers and their families, small businesses, schools and teachers, front line workers, local leaders, and public health officials.
